About Me
I moved to Plymouth in 2004 to gain work experience and improve my English skills. In 2005, I started my Shiatsu training at the Devon School of Shiatsu in Littlehempston and graduated in 2008. I have been practising in Plymouth at first and also in Totnes more recently. I am now offering Shiatsu in Plymouth and the Totnes area.
About Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a Japanese healing therapy that has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It works on the body's energy channels (meridians) and acupuncture points in order to even out energetic imbalances in the body. Thus, it can help with a wide variety of physical, emotional and mental symptoms.
I use different massage techniques, pressure, stretches and joint mobilisation to ensure a smooth flow of energy throughout the body. It is a deeply relaxing experience and is a wonderful way to unwind, let go of stress and ease your mind as well as enhancing your wellbeing. Personally, I have successfully treated the conditions listed below (not an extensive list). Please contact me to discuss, if you're unsure if Shiatsu is the right therapy for you.
Shiatsu is traditionally done on a futon on the floor but can also be given sitting on a chair for the less mobile. Please ensure you wear loose, comfortable clothes for your session and bring an extra layer, as you may feel cold when your body starts to relax.
